Day 27 - Sep 17

AM Update: Last night was super windy; kept waking up in the middle of the night from my tent being blown around. This morning has been really windy as well; my Garmin says today will be 15-20mph winds. Fortunately I got a break from the blaze and some amazing views of Mt. Jefferson. PM Update: continued to be windy throughout most of the day but I found the most beautiful campsite on a lake tucked in between some strong trees and it appears to be all but completely protected from the wind. I was going to hike another 4 miles but I couldn't say no to this camp site on my second to last night.

Much dryer day. Reached the border around 9:30 and started heading back to Hart's Pass. 23 miles again today leaving 44.5 to my finish line at Rainy Pass.

Day 3-19

Am: Best night's sleep of this trip. My watch said restorative with a sleep score of 90; never seen that before. 10 mi to Stehekin bus. Afternoon: Was able to stop at the Stehekin Bakery which was wonderful! They had a GF/Vegan bar along with a Thai Noodle Salad which was incredible. The town of Stehekin is very small but cute. Unfortunately the restaurant is closed until the after the bus leaves so I'll miss the hot meal but I did buy an extra backpacking meal to cook. PM: I enjoyed the 1 hour of WiFi while it lasted 😅 Made it an extra 8 miles out of Stehekin for a daily total of 18. Only 11 miles to Rainy Pass
