PCT Day 3 - Aug 23

AM Update: rained all night. Was about to keep self and gear dry but ground is soaked. Going to try and do a lighter day today.  

8am: Just had a scare one mile into my hike where I thought i was going the wrong way; things looked too familiar. it's fine, i'm going the right way 😂  

PM Update: Another big day on the trail; 16 miles with 3,300 ft of gain and 2,200 loss. Supposed to be dry tonight but it smells like the smoke might be coming in. Found a beautiful campsite with views of at least 9 different glaciers. Today was tough but manageable. Feet doing better today; they better get used to this.

Much dryer day. Reached the border around 9:30 and started heading back to Hart's Pass. 23 miles again today leaving 44.5 to my finish line at Rainy Pass.

Day 3-19

Am: Best night's sleep of this trip. My watch said restorative with a sleep score of 90; never seen that before. 10 mi to Stehekin bus. Afternoon: Was able to stop at the Stehekin Bakery which was wonderful! They had a GF/Vegan bar along with a Thai Noodle Salad which was incredible. The town of Stehekin is very small but cute. Unfortunately the restaurant is closed until the after the bus leaves so I'll miss the hot meal but I did buy an extra backpacking meal to cook. PM: I enjoyed the 1 hour of WiFi while it lasted 😅 Made it an extra 8 miles out of Stehekin for a daily total of 18. Only 11 miles to Rainy Pass
